Brandon Thomas

Founder / CEO, I Progress Basketball
Brandon Thomas is the Founder of I Progress Basketball (2016). Growing up in the Bay Area, he attended De La Salle High School where he excelled as a 3 year varsity basketball letterman while helping the program win their 2nd State Championship in school history (2006) under Head Coach Frank Allocco. After De La Salle, Thomas attended Diablo Valley College for 2 years and helped contribute to the team's success in 2 playoff appearances under Head Coach Steve Coccimiglio. After an outstanding 2 years at DVC, Thomas earned a role to play at Whittier College where he played for 2 years leading the team in both years to conference playoff appearances under Coach Rock Carter.
Thomas finished his education and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology (2012). After graduating, Thomas continued his journey with basketball in the coaching and training field. Thomas has experience coaching at the college level (Citrus College Assistant Coach - 2013) under Head Coach Chris Victor (Seattle University) and at the high school level as the Head Freshman Coach at De La Salle in 2014. Thomas also has experience coordinating camps as he has worked for numerous Golden State Warriors youth basketball camps under Program Director Jeff Addiego. In the summer of 2015, Thomas received an opportunity to assist NBA Player Development Specialist and owner of Accelerate Basketball, Brandon Payne, who is considered one of the best player development coaches in the world. Thomas assists with working out a few of his NBA, College and Elite High School clients. Thomas is entering his 9th year as the Assistant Player Development Coach under Payne and Accelerate Basketball (2015-Present).

Thomas is currently an Assistant Coach at Laney College under Head Coach Ramaundo Vaughn. Thomas is entering his 4th season as an Assistant Coach (2021-Present) establishing a record of 69-17, 3x Bay Valley Conference Champions and an Elite Eight State Playoff appearance during the 2023 season with Laney College. Thomas's player development program with Laney College has contributed to awarding 9 players earning scholarships to the 4 year level, 3 players earning Bay Valley Conference MVP, 12 All-Conference Players and the only player in Laney College history being awarded CCCAA California State Player of the Year.

Brandon and his partners at I Progress Basketball continue to dedicate their time in teaching the game and helping each player improve their skill set that will lead to achieving their ultimate goals.
Josh Hatcher
Player Development Coach, I Progress Basketball
Coach Josh Hatcher started his basketball career at Berkeley High School under coach David Manson. During his time in high school, Coach Josh played AAU basketball for the Berkeley Hoyas. While playing for the Hoyas, he gained a core coaching philosophy and athletic discipline that forged his character and passion for the game of basketball.

After high school, Coach Josh played college basketball at Merritt Junior College under Head Coach Keenan McMiller, where he earned multiple awards: First Team All-Conference and Bay Valley Conference Player of the Year.

It was under Coach McMiller's tutelage that he learned how to excel at a highly competitive level.
After Merritt, Josh received a full-ride scholarship to Chadron State College, an NCAA Division II school located in Chadron, Nebraska. At Chadron, Coach Josh played under Coach Brent Bargen, where during his junior year, helped lead Chadron State to its first conference playoff tournament appearance in 20 years.

Coach Josh is honored to serve under I Progress Basketball Training since 2019. He is thrilled with the opportunity to coach players of all ages, helping them achieve success both on and off the court.
